Principal Accountabilities Responsible for Ensuring that the IBM iSeries hardware and operating system software are controlled and operated effectively by the iSeries team. Manage the team performance within operations activities including scheduling backups and batch jobs, administrating user accounts, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, managing system security, etc. Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Technical and Operational Team Identify and design Training needs of staff Knowledge, Skills & Experience Demonstrates up to date knowledge of the iSeries architecture and technology. High Level knowledge of tools relevant to the iSeries platform (e.g. for backup*restore, monitoring, diagnosis, troubleshooting). LPAR experience essential. Skills Prioritises and plans to meet business requirements. Have excellent planning skills, ability to manage team members time and work within agreed timescales.Build strong relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers and especially team members. Additional language skills highly desirable. Education and Experience: Professional with a recognised technical qualification. IBM certifications for the iSeries platform highly desirable. At least 5 years experience operating iSeries services. 3 years Supervisory experience.
